What materials are used to make my crown?

We favour the most aesthetic materials possible when it comes to creating your crown. Porcelain and emax crowns are extremely effective at recreating the appearance of real tooth enamel and the edges and contours that make up a tooth. How long will my crown last?

• The lifespan of your crown is dependent on a variety of different factors such as:
• How damaged your tooth was initially.
• How you care for your crown.
• The amount of sugar and acidic food and drink you consume.
• How often do you visit the dentist.

When is a crown appropriate for a patient?

Crowns can fit over the top of a tooth that’s become worn due to teeth grinding, and improve the aesthetic of a tooth that’s suffered decay. We also use them to fit over teeth that are severely cracked or chipped, in cases where options like composite bonding or an inlay or onlay aren’t restorative enough.

Crowns also make up dental bridges and sit over the top of a dental implant.
