Dr Sam Reid

Sam qualified with honours from UCLan after previously achieving a degree with honours in Anatomy & Human Biology from the University of Liverpool.

Since then, Sam has continued to improve his knowledge, having completed a number of exams to become a full member of the Joint Dental Faculties (MJDF) in 2015.

Sam joined Paddock Dental & Cosmetics in 2016 and his passion for the practice, its staff, and patients led him to become a partner in 2018 and then the practice owner in 2022.

He has a keen interest in aesthetically-driven dentistry ranging from simple treatment, such as teeth whitening and replacing old fillings with tooth-coloured restorations, to teeth straightening, smile makeovers and implants. Sam is a strong believer that dental treatment should be minimally invasive wherever possible.

Sam is an accredited provider of Invisalign clear aligners and fixed cFast braces. In 2019 he completed a minimally invasive smile makeover course and soon after gained the practice official recognition as a Minimally Invasive Smile Makeover Centre. Sam has been voted as the best dentist on the Tipton Implant course.

Sam’s interest in restorative dentistry led me to study for a Diploma in Restorative dentistry through the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 2018, he was appointed as an Educational Supervisor by Health Education England. This means he now works alongside newly qualified dentists, passing on his knowledge and experience, and helping with their transition from dental school into general practice.

Sam firmly believes a visit to the dentist should be an enjoyable experience. Treatment should be pain-free and all decisions about a patient’s treatment should be theirs after discussing all different options. Sam has ample experience working with nervous patients and has developed techniques to enable them to be calm and feel more confident about their visits to us.

Away from work, Sam spends as much time as possible with my wife and children. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching sports, particularly football and has held a season ticket at Preston North End for over 20 years.
